Dans le cadre de la programmation hors saison du festival ALIMENTERRE, la coalition End Toxic Pesticide Trade, avec le soutien de la Fondation Rosa Luxemburg, a le plaisir de vous inviter à une projection spéciale du documentaire Toxic Harvest: The Hidden Truth about Pesticides (Récolte toxique : la vérité cachée sur les pesticides), qui aura lieu le 19 mars à 19 h au Cinéma Vendôme à Bruxelles.
Toxic Harvest révèle les effets dévastateurs des pesticides, en mettant l’accent sur l’utilisation de pesticides hautement dangereux en Afrique du Sud. À travers des témoignages poignants de travailleur·euses agricoles et des interviews d’expert·es, le film dénonce la façon dont ces produits chimiques toxiques empoisonnent nos sols, notre eau et notre nourriture, nous affectant toutes et tous.
La projection sera suivie d’une table ronde animée par Natasha Foote, avec la participation de Colette Solomon du Women on Farms Project et protagoniste du documentaire, Angeliki Lysimachou (PAN Europe) pour la coalition End Toxic Pesticide Trade, et Saskia Bricmont, eurodéputée belge du Parlement européen.
La discussion portera en particulier sur le double standard de l’Union européenne et la poursuite des exportations vers les pays du Sud global de pesticides interdits au sein de l’UE. Elle examinera également le recul actuel des mesures de protection contre les pesticides en Europe et ses conséquences. Ensemble, nous explorerons des questions liées à la responsabilité, à la justice environnementale et au besoin urgent de politiques cohérentes et équitables en matière de pesticides à l’échelle mondiale.

As part of the ALIMENTERRE festival’s off-season programming, The End Toxic Pesticide Trade Coalition, with the support of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, is pleased to invite you to a special screening of the documentary Toxic Harvest: The Hidden Truth about Pesticides, taking place on 19 March at 19:00 at the Cinéma Vendôme in Brussels.
Toxic Harvest uncovers the devastating impacts of pesticides, highlighting the use of highly hazardous pesticides in South Africa. Through powerful firsthand accounts from farm workers and eye-opening expert interviews, the film exposes how these toxic chemicals poison our soils, water, and food, affecting us all.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Natasha Foote, featuring Colette Solomon from Women on Farms Project and protagonist of the documentary, Angeliki Lysimachou (PAN Europe) on behalf of the End Toxic Pesticide Trade Coalition, and Saskia Bricmont, member of the European Parliament.
The discussion will focus in particular on the European Union’s double standards and the continued export of pesticides that are banned within the EU to countries in the Global South.It will also examine the current rollback of pesticide protections in Europe and its consequences. Together, we will explore questions related to accountability, environmental justice, and the urgent need for coherent and fair pesticide policies worldwide.
